When I began this painting, my initial plan was to just paint the sugar bowl. It was “aesthetic”, as the kids say. I began the painting on the flight home from London a month ago, imagining I’d finish it in a couple of days, but man, those gorgeous tiles just called to me and I knew I had to paint them. It took an entire month, but I think it was worth every minute.
